A bit more about me…

My name is Rachel (she/her) and I am a psychotherapist based in San Diego. I wholeheartedly love my work and am committed to a lifetime of professional learning and my own personal growth. I am passionate about quality mental health care that supports people to connect with and feel safe in their bodies and minds. I actively seek to recognize my clients’ strengths while helping them to cultivate more kindness in their inner world.

My path…

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California and received my Master’s degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2017.

I began my journey as a therapy student working with unhoused people and youth in therapeutic foster care. Since then I have provided therapy in schools, a sexual abuse support center, and outpatient clinics.

I specialize in working with issues of childhood trauma, sexual abuse and assault, anxiety, life transitions, and low self-worth. I believe it is vital to include the body and nervous system in therapy. I was privileged to study play therapy and EMDR early in my career, and have since trained in (and experienced myself) numerous modalities that have helped me to cultivate my own unique style of therapy that centers the mind-body connection.

Finding the right therapist is a journey in itself.

Working with me, you can expect a warm, compassionate, and empathic space where you will not be judged. We will start by getting to know one another and developing a roadmap for what we want to accomplish together. I seek to make therapy a collaborative process, as you are the expert in your own life!

I am honored to accept, affirm, and celebrate all parts of my clients’ identities. I am a proud ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and offer gender affirming care.

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.

I believe in meeting you where you are each session and adapting to best meet your present concerns, all while keeping your longer term goals in mind.

There is so much wisdom and experience stored in the body.

I will not only ask about the content of your thoughts, but will support you to explore how past and current experiences are being felt in your physical body. Practices involving the mind-body connection have proven deeply meaningful and transformational in my personal life and in my professional work with clients.

I am grateful and humbled to be a part of your therapy journey. I strongly believe that you already have the capacity to grow, heal, and become the brightest version of yourself. I look forward to walking alongside you through your past and current challenges and towards a future where you shine.
